The drive into Petta's is interesting, as it has you weaving through Schenectady's Hamilton Hill neighborhood. We were pleasantly surprised by Petta's. The interior, though slightly dated, doesn't quite feel like the rest of Hamiliton Hill. A colleague of mine likened Petta's to a hidden gem, and I can't argue with that. The portion sizes are large enough to provide for leftovers, and our wait staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Our waiter Bob was so attentive & nice (as was all the staff we spoke to there). Bread was delish but would have been even better if it were a touch warmer. (Even wrapped up the leftover for us to take home. Thank you) Sauce was very good with all the dishes we ordered (mozzarella appetizer, chicken parm and Childs spaghetti & MB). I had the broiled NY Strip which was cooked to perfection and they added some garlic butter on it for me. Came out on its own sizzling platter which my son was very excited to see for the first time. Portions are extremely generous and we were so full when we left. Will save some room for dessert next time as we will definitely be going back!!
