        Be cautious and careful when bringing jewelry for repair, or any work at this jewelry chain, and most other jewelers as well.. The vast majority of today's bench jewelers should never touch antique rings. They'll wreck 'em, and they did. But, worst of all, and never forgivable, was when their bench jeweler, under the knowledge of the store manager (in another Periwinkle's location now closed), SWITCHED my valuable natural sapphire for a much less expensive, lower end sapphire. I only left the ring with him 1 hour to have one prong tightened. But they had a low quality, dark sapphire on hand the same size. I recognized immediately that it wasn't my stone in the ring anymore, but couldn't prove it. It wasn't laser inscribed. I saw MY sapphire in their showcase a week later! Watch out!

Our founder, Christian Bixler III, set the standard for excellence more than two centuries ago in "creating friendships" rather than "making sales." Today, our jewelers, diamond setters, designers, casters, lappers, hand-engravers and gemologists, work in our production shops in Vermont and Montreal.
