I recently purchased a home sold by this realtor. The house turned out to be a filthy money pit because they hid everything so well. Not only was the owner filthy, she left a washer and dryer, and a range that do not work. I think that should be disclosed at the very least. People say that you are not buying appliances, but then why leave them in the house? If you choose to purchase a home sold by Hanna, please, please look over every square inch. It will serve you well to do so, believe me.I am the type of person that would never sell a home the way this owner did, and I think the realtor should have guided her as to how the shape of the home should be.I guess it is true that realtors are just like car salespeople, and that is very sad indeed. A home is where one lives, and it should be clean, and the owner honest.

The unprofessionalism and inconsiderate realtor DN and her team, here will remain because they've been a staple for a while. If this is your career then learn how to balance jobs. Would advise people to sway away from realtors and find a mortgage servicer and browse other sites without these inept people at this branch why pay a commission to be rolled into a loan under the guise that buyer pays closing costs when a percentage goes to someone who partially helps and the firm gets their cut. Maybe another branch is better? Maybe it's the pompous attitude of entitlement of this side of town? Either way there are other realtors and sites vying for us as consumers. Had a friend forward a FB post with the integrity of a certain realtor previously eluded to trying to lie and overcharge for a place she was flipping on the side. Karma served...too bad some soul will likely be used by this piranha.

I had a terrible buying experience with Howard Hanna Realty Services Pittsford, who received a $9,600 commission to serve as my "buyer's agent" in a recent home purchase in addition to representing the seller for an additional $9,600. While brokers and agents have an "ethical" and contractual obligation to 'represent the interest of and advocate on behalf of the buyer', that was not my experience with the HH Pittsford agent, who minimized and dismissed my concerns about discrepancies with her property description along with issues regarding the property condition and the need for repairs and maintenance. In addition to expressing my concerns directly to the HH agent, I also shared my concerns with the HH Pittsford broker and HH NY president but never received a response. This speaks volumes as to how Howard Hanna views clients as just another 6% commission. As a result, I recommend that home buyers avoid using the seller's agent as well as the seller's listing firm to represent you as a "buyer's agent" for an easy 3% commission. This "dual agent role" is filled with conflicts of interests in an industry that demands high commissions and often provides little value to buyers. Buyers and sellers should also consider the growing trend of buying and selling houses directly via Zillow and personal websites and also listing your house with a flat fee MLS service. Finally, keep in mind the 6% realtor commission that you pay is baked into the purchase price and as a result increases your property assessment and property & school taxes for future years. Serious consideration should be given to directly hiring quality consultants (eg. legal, appraisers, home inspectors, home stagers, contractors) that will provide you with what you want in the house preparation and the buying and selling process. These alternatives to using realtors can be substantially less costly, won't increase your future taxes and often will be more desirable to both buyers and sellers.
