If the Torches is making money it is in spite of it's management. I made reservations one week prior to going and waited one half hour to be seated. They turned over 20 people away saying it would be a 35 minute wait. When we finally were seated there was about 6 good size tables that were empty and not used for the entire time we were there.I own a business and wouldn't want those jerks managing my investment. My reservation was Sunday 9/7 at 2 o'clock. I would love to talk to the owner.

On a slow Thursday evening at around 6pm, a friend of mine (who happens to be black) and I were trying to get a table for two within the restaurant. Despite there being lots of open tables in the restaurant, we were told (after much quiet discussion between the two women behind the counter) that there was only seating available in the bar area. My friend and I decided to leave, getting the impression that this establishment had ulterior motives for their decision, given that there was no mandatory dress code, or real reason to deny us proper seating. We ended up going to another restaurant that was cheaper, had a much friendlier atmosphere, and we had a great time. Not necessarily saying the establishment was being discriminatory in nature, but it definitely put a bad taste in our mouths to be denied proper seating in a nearly empty restaurant without any real reason. Not to mention the boring menu, the snobby atmosphere and the unnecessary prices. A real turn off from the start. Just a warning for those who prefer a warmer wait staff. Don't bother here.

Don't waste your time or money. The Sunday brunch was so-so, albeit overpriced. The insects outside made eating nearly impossible (outside seating was the only thing available.) The only thing niceabout this meal was the view. Oh yeah, the non-attentive wait staff even put the gratuity on the tab (18% for a party of four.) Strike three. Definitely won't be back.
