Riddle Me Out Escape Games NYC

I went to their establishment a few weeks prior and had a great time and decided to book for a larger group (8). We’re from out of state so had to travel for 2 hours and change, pay for parking because we didn’t want to be late. Once we arrived we buzzed the doorbell and no one answered. For 30 minutes we waited outside until someone was leaving the building and we went in. Once we finally got in we were greeted with a sign saying they are closed. No email no phone call and this was booked weeks in advance. I still haven’t gotten anyone by email or by phone. Horrible service.

I had a great time with my friends and a random couple. There were a few things that went wrong while in the room but someone came in to fix the glitch. The funny part is that we unlocked the door without realizing it so we were in the room for an extended time for no reason haha. I would definitely recommend!

If you're into escape games, this is probably one of the best ones in NYC. Their bank heist was so cleverly designed that even after we finished we were pleasantly surprised that some of the solutions we tried were actually the correct ones. The jail escape is not as well-designed and challenging as the bank heist, but it also had solutions that felt rewarding by how much out-of-the-box thinking it required. This is my top 2 favorite out of the 6 escape room places I've been to with friends, but for price to enjoyment ratio this comes out on top.

In the introductory video is asked to exercise any strength if something does not work out, which is understandable. Unfortunately, you had to exercise a bit of power on two objects so that they could be opened. If one follows the "Dont's" a success of the room is (almost) not possible. Help is obtained via a tablet. Unfortunately, the help was partly for puzzles that have already been solved or had to be solved in the next room, but not for the current problem. Another possible disadvantage is that the rooms can be "played" with 8 players. Therefore, it may happen that you have to solve the mystery with "strangers" people what can be an even greater challenge with different language. That's why we would not try any more spaces from Riddle Me Out and dodge others in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Aus diesem Grund konnten wir die beiden Anbieter einigermassen vergleichen. Der Empfang wirkt sehr kühl und irgendwie hatte wir auch das Gefühl, dass die Hosts nicht ganz bei der Sache waren. Nach einem Einführungsvideo mit allen Do’s und vor allem Dont’s haben wir den Raum «Alice in Wonderland» betreten. Im Einführungsvideo wird gebeten keine Kraft auszuüben sofern etwas nicht gleich aufgeht, was auch verständlich ist. Leider musste man bei zwei Objekten ein bisschen Kraft ausüben damit diese geöffnet werden konnten. Sofern man die «Dont’s» befolgt ist ein Gelingen des Raumes (fast) nicht möglich. Hilfe erhält man über ein Tablet. Leider war die Hilfe zum Teil für Rätsel, die bereits gelöst worden sind oder erst im nächsten Raum gelöst werden mussten, jedoch nicht für das aktuelle Problem. Ein weiterer möglicher Nachteil ist, dass die Räume mit 8 Spieler «gespielt» werden können. Daher kann es vorkommen, dass man mit «Fremden» Personen das Rätsel lösen muss was bei unterschiedlicher Sprache zu einer noch grösseren Herausforderung werden kann. Aus diesem Grund würden wir keine weiteren Räume von Riddle Me Out versuchen und auf andere in Manhattan oder Brooklyn ausweichen.
