My friends use to love this place and they had been REGULARS from 2018-2020 Feb. they ordered the food at least twice a week. At least. Especially, the chile and basil tofu and coconut soup. The coconut soup is still good. But after COVID, the standard has significantly reduced. The food is at best average. They took forever to bring the drinks out. When the drinks finally came out. My friends drink was aesthetically on fire which was cool. But then, the fire cracked the glass and they were very nonchalant about it. It is really sad because this place use to be really really good before COVID. One of my friends even moved back to NYC because she missed the basil tofu at Jaiya and she was so disappointed.

I had lunch here many times and I loved the food. But after pandemic things have changed and food is not as good as before . But the 1 star is not related to food. I give 3 stars for food still. In my last visit, we went at 12.00 PM and ordered our food. The person who took order started cleaning restaurant by spraying lysol and some other chemicals with gloves on. I was hoping that she washes her hands before serving us food. She went back into kitchen got us food. I am not sure if she really washed her hands and changed her gloves. Then she started her spraying and cleaning work again. Another customer came in and ordered food and a drink. She neither took her gloves off , nor washed her hands. She served them drinks with the same gloves, took the cover of straw, hold it with all those chemical gloves which she sprayed lysol and cleaned restaurant and kept it in the drink. I am not going back here again.
