Back in 2015, this used to be my favorite Thai restaurant. Since then they have changed management several times over - with each change things got worse. Recently visited since I was in the area, just to find out they changed management again, "Opai Thai" is no longer the name you see outside the restaurant, (so it took me a while to find) and they'll soon exclusively be a Japanese restaurant. I asked. Food was mediocre, to say the least. another one bites the dust. RIP to all the great restaurants we've lost the past 2 years.

We ordered takeout since there was no sit-down service for thai food only for ramen. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait which we were okay with. After 30 minutes we nicely asked how much longer it would be and were rudely told that it would be "15 minutes maybe more". While we were waiting for the food, sitting in the restaurant, a homeless man entered and walked over to our table. He threatened us (3 college girls) demanding money. Instead of helping us, the hostess noticed the homeless man and walked away from the situation. There were also many other capable people who were nearby in the kitchen who also failed to intervene. It was unbelievable how this restaurant handled this situation. TLDR: the food was decent enough but the service was terrible.

Edit: Weve ordered many times from here now, and at their best the food is excellent (particularly drunken noodles and green curry), but in the past month or two its become inconsistent. The noodles are often bland or overly fishy, and the curry vegetables seem lower in quality. That said, sometimes its really still great, and we love it for the quick takeout prep time. My original review is below: Excellent Thai food. Weve eaten here three times in the last week and a half. Especially the vegetable curries (tried green and red), which have so many different kinds of vegetables in themmany more than what were used to. Great drunken noodles and basil chicken too. Also had chicken satay (very flavorful, one piece maybe shouldve cooked a minute longer), basil fried rice (decent), spring rolls (pretty good) and pad thai (good, strong fish sauce flavor if that bothers you). They were also helpful over the phone when we needed to order for guests who were sensitive to fish sauce. The curries are made from prepared powders that already have that worked in, but enough other things could be adjustedwok dishes especiallythat the meal worked out well.
