Worst italian dinner of my life. I was in New York for business. First night off the plane, I finally ended up there. Bread with olive oil to start. The bread was pizza crust. The oil was disgusting, I could not see through it. The balsamic vinegar in it stucked to my bread when I put it in. It smelled liked crap, I took one bit and left it there. Then my appetizer. It was by far the worst fried calamari I ever ate. It was like rubber, not in the calamari kind of way, rubber!!! The sauce was all right, but for the first time in my life I had to return a plate. I could not eat this. The my pasta... overcooked, sauce looked canned, but I least I was able to put something in my stomach. No dessert, please. And for service, I felt like all staff was looking at me the entire time, I felt uncomfortable the whole time. My god, what a way to start a trip. First thing I did coming home, I made myself a good simple pasta dish so I could forget how bad Italian food can be when it's made with no pride and no respect.

Of all the good restaurants on 9th Av, we had to pick this one! Bad service, poor value for money, imposed tip (not deserved)...

There table service sucks!.The most un-accomadating wait staff. I hope they read this so they can correct the problems. The brick oven pizza is great. I recommend you go to the side door on 44th and sit at the pizza counter.

We had Thanksgiving Day dinner here. The servers were very nice. The food was fine. Maybe not the greatest in the world. But good. If you are in the mood for Italian and are in this area I think you'll enjoy it here.

I will never go to this place again and I warn all those interested. I was in Times Square area and saw a Groupon deal so I decided to give it a try. The service was decent and the food was ok too, but in no way was my food worth almost a $100. It was worth more toward the $39 I paid on Groupon. When presented with the check, I was surprised to see a line item for 18% gratuity. Correct me if I am wrong, but gratuity is not something that you can be forced to pay. The word itself is derived from gratitude. I asked to speak with the manager and even told him for good service, I would be happy to pay more than the typical 20% gratuity, but that I don't see why it is added to my bill. He tried to say something about the fine print and that it says he must charge for gratuity and tax. I asked him to show me and all he could produce was fine print about groupon not including tax and gratuity on the promotional offer. Then he gave me attitude and said that his lawyer said it was ok for him to do this, then more attitude told me I can do whatever I want and walked away while I was speaking with him. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MEDIOCRE FOOD AND SERVICE!!! Not worth the deal! End of story - I gave the gratuity amount to the server and left the tax, but for a total of $62 you could have a better meal for 2 at an Outback Steakhouse. Or even the Applebee's directly in Times Square!
