It is truly authentic and not like crazy fancy or too expensive like ones in midtown. Went for Omakase for about $250 for two people to celebrate new job and some friend-gatherings, price is very reasonable for the quality of the food, which is consistent and amazing. Boss introduced every course and the restaurant has a friendly vibe. Love this place and will go again!

Walk in and you'll be immediately greeted by the most friendly hostess who gives off the energy of a mom wanting to make sure you are properly taken care of. Ignore the piles of boxes in the corners on your way to either one of the two tables or the sushi bar and enjoy some of the best sushi you'll have in New York. The hostess, who also happens to be the server, will check in with you frequently to make sure you are enjoying every bite of your meal and that your glass is never empty. After spending several weeks in Japan last year, this was the most traditional and enjoyable sushi experience I've had since then. Your life will be better off after having gone here for not just a meal, but for an experience. (Side note: This is my first time ever writing a restaurant review, which should say something about how much I like this place. Inase seems to be one of the small restaurants that has been hit pretty hard by covid, and it would be very sad to see them go out of business since I have decided it is now my go-to sushi spot on the UES. Please please please eat here :)
