Came here yesterday with a friend after having one too many glasses of wine as a Yelp event. I wasn't staaaaaaarving, but I most definitely had a case of the "wine munchies". I walked by and I've seen the 'Naked Pizza' near St. Mark's/Union Square and all of a sudden I had a hankering to try this place out, especially when I read out front that it was "simply the world's healthiest pizza". How could one refuse? Naked Pizza offers some pretty interesting pies and does not sell anything by the slice. Each pizza is made fresh to order and there are no examples or photos so you're pretty much ordering at your own peril. Then again your "peril" will include completely all-natural meats and the dough, sauce & cheese are free of additives, preservatives, colorants, or chemicals of any kind. Their proprietary crust recipe contains 12 whole grains, nuts, and roots. It is fortified with prebiotics--a high-grade fiber--as well as heat-resistant probiotics, which are healthy bacteria similar to those found in yogurt. That mixture of multi-grain flours and whole grains increases the levels of plant proteins in the crust. Adding to the healthy factor on the menu is the cheese which is apparently made with part skim milk. HOORAY FOR SKIM MILK!!! (I'm a weirdo, rest assure that I already know). Each pie comes in small, medium, large - small being a 10' personal pie, medium being your standard 16' and I forgot how many inches large was...probably 20' or something in that range. I remember thinking the price for a small was okay, but the medium and large pies were definitely a but pricer than your average pizza...and I'm talking about regular pizzeria prices, not fast food pizza like Dominos or (gross and disgusting) Papa John's. We went with their "Cheesy Bayou Breadstix" which use the same whole-grain dough used for their pizza and it's then loaded with their blend of mozzarella cheese and herbs and served with their marinara sauce. The dough was a bit chewier and weirdly sweeter than I prefer, but to say it was bad would feel wrong. It was interesting and interesting isn't always bad. The cheese was enjoyable and not salty like some pizza places and the herb seasoning was an added plus. The marinara sauce was bland to me and I asked for a little bit of their garlic-infused white sauce to use a dip and what I got was a garlic-infused oil that they refer to as "white sauce". It was tasty though and I kept going back and forth between that and the marinara sauce (which my friend scarfed down). Over all their breadsticks weren't bad, it was a pretty huge serving that could be used as a full meal between 2 people or as a generous snack between 3 or 4. The breadsticks were $5.99 and totally worth it giving the portion and overall quality. I'll probably never have a pizza here to be honest unless it's a personal pie shared with someone, but I would totally do the breadsticks again.

Bland gluten free crust that was thin and couldn't hold up the goods without crumbling down. Disappointing sauce, tasted watered down and had a very canny feel and spongy vegetables. Not a great place if you are a vegan/gluten free eater.
