Went here to try out therapy for the first time, and though it ended up not working with my schedule, I actually thought the provider was quite skilled and found the sessions super interesting. Unfortunately, the billing and scheduling process was a bit of a nightmare. After my first session, I was scheduled for weekly sessions stretching several months without being consulted. Odd but ok. I had to cancel one of these auto-generated sessions via email but it seems the system didn’t update, and my provider apparently still thought we had a session that evening. When I let them know I just couldn’t make the time commitment going forward and asked for a bill, they didn’t provide a complete invoice to me even after multiple requests. But my provider continued texting my personal number pressuring me to save my credit card in their system without even telling me how much I owed or responding to my repeated requests for a full invoice. This concerned me given the autogenerated sessions and the fact my cancellation hadn’t fully gone through—I didn’t want surprise charges and I didn’t want to save my financial info with a new company that seemed to still have growing pains. Even when I finally received a full bill and entered my information, I was told they had to save my credit card information in their system for at least a few days rather than just charging me and closing the matter. Overall, the actual service I thought was high-quality and promising, but the operational side was quite unsettling and unprofessional, making the whole experience more trouble than it was worth.

I've been working with an Octave coach for 4 months now and it has improved my stress, anxiety, and depression levels like crazy (I've taken a quizzes to prove it!). Disclaimer: Coaching is NOT a therapy session. The main reason I came to Octave was to seek help with work/life balance (creating boundaries), defining my careers goals, and managing stress. With the help of my coach we've created weekly goals and healthy habits to help support my things that I've been struggling with. Octave is my first experience with 1:1 coaching and I countlessly have been recommending it to my friends – especially with phone appointments which make it easy to work around work/life schedules Octave hasn't felt "clinical" in way where it feels cold, awkward, or disconnected it's quite the opposite! I think it's a great experience for anyone that's feeling anxious, nervous, or self conscious about coaching.
