This restaurant was wonderful. The food and service (Mr Gionni, Carlos and Walter) were amazing. The food was so fresh, it reminded me of dining in Italy. It was a recommendation from a friend who lives in NYC as we were visiting. I really cant wait for my next trip to NYC to eat here again.

Extremely rude service. Told by both waiter and hostess after 60 minutes that table would be needed in 30 minutes. Food is average NYC Italian and certainly does not overcome the poor service.

It makes me sad to write this review This restaurant has a stellar reputation in the city and Ive eaten here multiple times with wonderful experiences. Unfortunately, my last visit was far from perfect. The quality of the food was good as always, but the service was disappointing. At the beginning the waiter offered olives, prosciutto and parmigiano for the table without mentioning that they were going to charge $75. Moreover, we took a birthday cake assuming the charges and they took the liberty of taking, what we interpret as a generous taste of the cake. (You can judge by the picture attached. Theres a clear spoon mark in the corner and we ate 5 pieces) I would expect that if I take my family to an expensive restaurant for a special occasion we would receive a respectful, transparent and fair treatment, but we experienced excessive trust, lack of boundaries and no transparency in prices. One star.
