Bar Basque

The place is super cool to be in and look at. I would check it out again afterwork with friends for a drink but do move on as the place sometimes get packed and the crowd can vary

Its been twice since I've been here. My friend absolutely loves this place. And although the location sucks, the ambiance is really nice. Every dish we've ever ordered were delicious and SUPER expensive. Most of the dishes are tapa style, so of course you would expect small portions and also with BIG prices. EVERYTHING here is expensive. Even the bottle of Stella i ordered (not even on tap!) was pricey. The servers are nice, but the hostess is anything but! I'd like to nudge my friend to hang out another bar/lounge, more affordable and perhaps even a better crowd.

Had a great a experience on a Sunday visit in the winter. The food was delicious, elegant and fun. Fun in a way of tartare on a pushpop. The ambiance seems loungy similar to the Gasenvoort Hotel, so I could imagine how it gets on a weekend. The wine list is very extensive with a nice variety.

Bar Basque has closed. Humphrey (its replacement) is experiencing growing pains, including some of the most unpleasant service I've ever experienced in a restaurant.
