The Gregory Hotel

Excellent room and friendly staff. There's also a bar on the first floor that's perfect before going out. Will definitely be back!

Would have been fine except for the mandatory "amenities fee" of $30 which to be fair was listed in the fine print. I didn't see it and a mandatory "fee" should be part of the published rates. I could have stayed somewhere nicer for less money if I had know the total price ahead of time. The face that I and lots of others would do so is why the don't disclose it I'm sure. Room was small, even by midtown Manhattan standards and rather noisy. Staff was rude.

Great place to stay. We found a great price on Groupon and spent a night there for a reasonable price... During the Christmas holidays too. The staff was unbelievably friendly and accomodating. The rooms were clean and nice. Love the older wood and marble staircase! Bathrooms in the room were clean and spacious! Overall great stay, highly recommend, and will stay there again next time in NYC.

Whatever you do, do NOT stay at the Gregory Hotel. Booked for a weekend trip, based on photos and reviews, I figured I’d give it a shot. Immediately regret. After a night of this random heater in the room making the loudest noises, and a bathroom that you can’t properly sit on the toilet as there is a chunk of wall in front of half of the toilet, we got up to our water not working. Was really trying to overlook the other inconveniences but this is absurd. According to the front desk, the entire building is without water. Should have been out of my hotel to enjoy a day in NYC, but here I am at 10:30 AM with no running water to get ready with. Every time I’ve called, it’s “going to be done in 30 minutes”.... that was an hour and a half ago. Don’t do it, no matter how tempting it looks through photos!
