The Curious Tour

I purchased an elephant (Grassland Trumpets) as a gift and am so pleased with the quality and all around adorableness of the little guy. Now I have to buy another for myself because I fell in love! My sister in law loved the gift and the amazing story behind it! I cant recommend this enough, truly a great find and gift idea (just get two because you wont want to give it away!!)

A lovely shop showing unique goods from South Africa. I don't know how they get such product and can sell so modestly - but glad such places exist. Easy to deal with, and very accommodating. Quality material.

The first time I shopped The Curious Tour was at a trunk show a few years ago. I just fell in love with the products! First of all, they are all handmade items from Africa so the quality and artistry is really top of the line. What beautiful items and so durable that I've had some of these items for years! So far I have purchased a: Hand woven Elephant, handmade Christmas egg ornaments, hand stitched stuffed teddy bear, and beaded bracelets. I am just in love with everything I have purchased, this stuff is gorgeous and so carefully crafted. I'm so impressed with the creativity and durability of this product. I would highly recommend any of the items in this collection. It's for a great cause, it helps give back to communities, looks great in my home, fantastic accessory to my collection, and has added so much art and beauty to my life!

Each object stocked by the business is handpicked by the owner and quality is ensured to be the highest it can be. They walked me through their entire collection highlighting the features of each gift they recommended. They spent time telling me about the artists they feature and about the processes involved. This stood out to me as you will not find this level of detail anywhere else. Their prices are fair for any budget, and the best part is that 50% of their proceeds go to the Mdukatshani Project, which supports African craftswomen. I settled on two of their egg ornaments from The Shimmer Ornaments Collection and a few necklaces. All of the gifts purchased were wrapped to ensure no breakage during delivery. In addition to ensuring no damage, the packaging was art itself. The necklaces were shipped in decorated paper mache recycled bottle containers cut and folded to resemble a flower.
