I contracted Brehm to totally rehab my one bedroom co-op in Tudor City. The building dates back to 1925 and my unit was dated, dowdy and depressing. In a preliminary conference with Edgard Altuzarra of Brehm, I told him I wanted something "Classic, yet modern with high end finishes, a contemporary kitchen and fabulous marble bathroom." Then I went to Florida for the winter and Edgard did the rest. When I came back in the spring, I had my dream co-op come true with every detail in place. Brehm kept communications flowing during the entire process via email or text, and at times emailed me videos of the progress. I can't thank them enough. Their old fashioned trust and new age technology proved to be a winning combination and allowed me to relax. Never once did they try to " up sell" me on any products or services, but instead kept to the budget and supplied me with cost-cutting options if I wanted them. Brehmn's expertise in renovating historic properties in New York City is one of their many specialties. Brehm's business card says General Contractors, but I feel they are so much more. At times they acted as an architect deciding to move a doorway to get more space for the kitchen. To hire an architect could have been an expensive add on, but their experienced eyes led them to that perfect solution. Other times they acted as an interior designer, creating custom cabinetry and built ins that personalized my apartment. Still other times they became interior decorators helping me choose the perfect paint color of a pale blue gray and then seemingly floating it onto the walls. I knew I had people with a very high aesthetic taste level working for me and not just a grunt and get it done crew. When it comes to Brehm, they are the Creme de la Creme! By Lise S.
