Food was so so but the drinks were better. However, we had to come twice to receive one meal. The first time we came, the manager did not allow the use of a voucher claiming that we had to show before 8 pm. After we left, we discovered that the fine print clearly states we can show up until midnight. We came back the next day and spoke with the owner about the error. He simply said sorry, well you can use it now, and shrugged his shoulders. He sat down to return to his dinner.

Just had our 2nd great experience at La Villette - We're from Boston and visit NY often. Our first experience was a week or so after hurricane Sandy and the nor'easter and it happened that we had one of those warm sunny 70+ degree November days. The patio was open and the service and food was excellent! The owner, Angelo, stopped to talk at every table and kept a watchful eye on everything. We visited La Villette again last night and again, service and food were great. Angelo recognized us from our first visit and welcomed us back and as before, actively worked the restaurant to make sure things were in order. The food tends toward southern french, Mediterranean flair without the traditional northern heavy sauces - and full of flavor. The atmosphere is modern - not classical french - but stylish and energetic. One of our favorites in Manhattan.

It's a very cute French restaurant just off West 4th. We came here for dinner. The service was pretty attentive. The most memorable thing was the creme brulee.
