The Smilist Dental Manhattan

My search for a dentist is finally over. The Secretary was very kind over the phone, and to meet her in person and see how thorough she was in explaining the insurance coverage was super helpful. Now for the dental visit- the dental assistant was so patient, soft/spoken, and gentle. The dentist was excellent; she was delightful, knowledgeable, and transparent about dental care; there wasn't anything left to the imagination. She knew precisely the issue and provided the right course of preventative care. My younger son had an appointment as well and was very satisfied with the level of care he received (he’s usually apprehensive about going to the dentist); I heard him laughing during his visit; he said the dentist was personable, and that made him more comfortable. We highly recommend this dentist.

I was a patient here for years. They have a very high turnover of dentists. My dentist changed twice in two years. Dentists are here very short term and aren't really invested in the patients. Coming here for a cleaning or two seems OK, but I strongly advise against any long-term term. What got me to leave was them refusing to refund me $3500 on an Invisalign treatment that they could not start because my case was overtly complicated. To add to that, they've been harassing me to pay THEM $3500 for treatment that they never started. In terms of actual dentistry, their work and service was also subpar. I received an extremely shoddy chip filling repair, that was far worse than what was already there. The cleaning procedures were OK at best, often being split across multiple appointments. The wait times were always extremely long, defeating the purpose of coming to a place close to work.
