Mara is a brilliant creative and visionary. Her clothing makes me feel utterly beautiful, utterly seen and completely myself...my highest self. She sees the deep beauty and wisdom in women and her reverence is felt in the beauty and care of each piece she designs. She celebrates all women, all bodies, and I love her models who are so gorgeously diverse across multiple spectrums (age, ethnicity, shape....). I also applaud the work she is doing to reduce and eliminate waste and source ethical and environmentally friendly material- a pioneer in the fashion industry who risked stepping and scaling back to re-envision her company in a more sustainable way. I have also enjoyed the panels on social justice that she regularly hosts in her studio, opening her space for community led organizations to gather and converse about topics such as race, gender, the prison system etc. Thank you Mara.

I hope someday you practice what you preach. You pride yourself on diversity, inclusivity, and being cultured yet outside of the 2 or 3 people of color I saw, your office is a whitewash. I could say so much more about the way you treated me but let’s just leave it as I thought for once I was about to meet an enlightened woman business owner but in reality you are just a shell of an insecure girl. Work on your inner child. She’s crying. And stop profiting off women of color yet barely choosing and trusting in them enough to work for you. We are more than a pretty face. And before you even think it, I am not alone in this realization. There has been discussions. It’s women like you who continue to wear masks yet support racism.
