The beer, both on the half-dozen taps and from the extensive bottle selection, is unusual and itself a reason to visit this intimate, low-key beer bar. The food, from the kitchen shared with the adjacent wine bar Grape and Grain, is very very good, and includes some entirely vegan selections (white-bean dip with outstanding, spicy pita chips). Other notable bar food includes the pizzas, which are substantial but not overwhelming; and the soft pretzel with house-made (of course; what bar doesn't have these?) pickles. The staff turnover means that once in a while someone green will be working the bar and will not know the beers first-hand: ask for tastes and they will certainly oblige.

Excellent beer selection and good small plates if you need a snack. Small relaxed environment with some bar stools and a community style table. If you're in the mood for wine, go next door to Grape and Grain.
