My experience with PurePoint and its customer service personnel is the worst experience I have ever had with any financial institution. Between 11:30AM and 2:30 PM I had to speak with multiple customer service reps to execute 2 wire transfers. I received at 3PM a call from security rep to confirm my wires because of the large denominations. I was told at that time all was good and that the wires were executed before the 4PM deadline. At 5PM I received another call from PurePoint supervisor who refused to give me his full name that my wires did not execute and that I needed to start all over again next week. I believe the staff I spoke with the exception of one supervisor are incompetent. I also found their interactive on-line system to be flawed and unreliable . It took me 4 times to log in, over 1 hour because each time I had to reset my password and had to respond to repetitive security questions. At the end of the day I accomplished nothing and now will loose interest until I get my wires executed. My recommendation stay clear of PurePoint Financial.

Everything is fine until you actually need customer service or written documentation. When that time comes, they will punt you to a call center, as the bankers at the actual branch are not able to actually help you. The support center will overpromise and under-deliver, and give conflicting information to what the bankers at the branch tell you. If you use their electronic encrypted emails, their system is filled with bugs. On the day of a major deadline, they promised me they would get me the documents I needed by the end of day. After waiting the entire day, an encrypted message came to me an hour too late, and when I opened the message, lo and behold, the only attachment was a PDF literally saying "We have the encrypted message for you", with no other additional promised attachments. Despite being an internet bank, it is impossible to get things done right on the internet, something that is supposedly their strength.

This is a great banking institution. They are a subsidiary of a large Japanese bank and the US management reflects the Japanese values of trust, customer service and transparency, unlike most of the US banks around. I moved my money into their savings account last year, and have seen the APY rise several times over this period of time. The APY is increased frequently to provide the best savings rate offered on the market. Currently it stands at 1.6%. They are very friendly when one needs assistance and are helpful in resolving issues. As the other reviewer pointed out, they do send you a birthday gift, which is thoughtful and was actually a very nice present. But don't just open an account for the birthday present. Open it if you expect top service and the best savings rate around. Everything else is just a bonus. I don't write reviews often, but wanted to acknowledge PurePoint's performance so far which distinguishes it from the vast majority of other banks. I sincerely hope this continues as the bank attracts more customers. Thank you.
