When the time came to upgrade to a new set of hearing aids (I'd been using two previous models for about nine years), I again consulted the Hearing Services at ENT & Allergy Associates, New Windsor, NY. Upon receiving hearing tests (tympanometry & audiometry) I met with Mr. Arnold Kahgan, MS CCC-A, the ENTA audiologist for a hearing aid fitting and orientation. He recommended a range of different model hearing aids encompassing the latest technology. Mr. Kahgan loaned me a pair of late-model hearing aids to try for a period of ten days. Since the loaner worked well I ordered a similar set of mid-range rechargeable, bluetooth compatible, hearing aids. After two consultations for equipment fine-tuning, I can now say that the new hearing aids have changed my life in ways that would not have been possible with the previous models. Here is a summary of just five of the major improvements over my old hearing aids: (1) no longer do I have to worry about batteries running out since my new hearing aids are recharged once a day, overnight; (2) I wear them all day long without any discomfort; (3) they are paired with my cell phone and an app that can be used to fine-tune a multitude of settings (clarity, volume, trebles, bass, etc) for each ear separately; (4) cell phone calls are directed to the hearing aids and are crystal clear; (5) when listening to music or talk radio on the phone or any other bluetooth enabled device (e.g. computer,TV, etc.) I have found that the quality of the audio reaching my new hearing aids is at least equal to that of a high-end headset.
Lastly, a few of several advantages of using ENT & Allergy Associates for one's hearing needs is that they offer a 45-day trial period on new hearing aids and a 3-year manufacturer's repair warranty beyond that. So far, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Yves Danneels
