Office needs to communicate better with parents, therapist are changed randomly without any prior notification to parents and new assigned therapist are never introduced . The reason my child is receiving the services is because she has communication issue, otherwise she would have informed. I have tried contacting the manager and left a message with assistant Megan. This is the 3rd time my daughters therapist changed in about 2yrs and we have raised the issue a few times. Session was running late and no phone call either to inform instead the session with my child was 13min and 7min of speaking to me after I requested an update when the new therapist came on board. An email update would have appreciated with such changes.

The office is clean and well organized, the therapists are on time, often to the minute. However, the sessions are short, only 20 minutes. Having an extra 10 minutes for a 30 minute session each week would have given my daughter (and kids in general) more time to really settle into the session. Things definitely seemed rushed there overall. Their excuse was that sessions used to be longer, but "during Covid," they shortened them to "sanitize". Fine. Only problem is, now they continue with the shorter sessions even after those Covid protocols were phased out (they literally book to the minute). In addition, if you are seeing a speech therapist 2x a week, it can be hard to match your availability with one therapist. Kids need consistency and it takes time to really know each kid. After Amanda left (she was great and was the only one at the time who was able to do our available time slots), my daughter's time slot was switched to 2 different therapists. Between the 20 minute sessions and two different therapists, it was starting to feel too rushed and impersonal, so I pulled her out. I would think the only way this place would truly benefit a child is having the same therapist at least 2x a week or longer sessions.

My son David has been going to the Long Island Speech for 7 years now since he was about 2 and half year old. David has started his speech therapies since a Tonsillectomy surgery was done. In the beginning, his voice was very hoarse and could not make correct sounds for many letters, and had conversational issues. Over the years, he has made incredible progress. He is happy, building up his confidence, and be able to communicate so much better. Now is to focus working on few remaining area. David has seen several different therapists over time. Each therapist has their own professional minds, friendly, and connected very well with David. Now he is working with 3 therapists due to scheduling challenges. But it turns out to his benefits as he is becoming more flexible to work with each therapist and he is happy to know more of them. He is absolutely feeling comfortable coming in for his sessions. The office staff are totally wonderful. They are so busy in managing things and scheduling. But trying their very best to be helpful to the parents and to meet their needs. I have a great time to deal with them and joking around. We are all thankful for David's big progress made over here at Long Island Speech.

The speech therapists and office staff are amazing, positive attitude, always smiling (positive vibe) and clean office. We mostly worked with Amanda and she is great, my child looks forward to going to his session(s) and we have notice an improvement in his speech. He even remembers the correction she taught him and corrects himself at home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for your child.
