Honestly Id give 0 stars if I could. I get it, puppy classes are a lot and can be difficult. But one of the main points of puppy class is to allow the puppies to socialize, well, not with this woman. She basically told me my little 4 month old was stupid and needed a lot of work ALL BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SOCIALIZE! I use to train animals professionally, so I know not every animal is the same. I had trained my little guy a few things beforehand just to get him started, and she had told me that all my training was wrong and stupid. Theres no right or wrong way to train, every animal learns differently just as any human does. What really sent me over the edge was her telling me my 4 MONTH OLD LITTLE PUPPY- needed a prong collar. She put it on him and my heart still breaks when I think of how he reacted to it. Prong collars can be great for animals that need them if theyre used properly, but I will say my puppy did not need it. I did not return after this and I never will, my advice? Find someone else with a little more compassion and less abuse.

I have to say, there was a steep learning curve for me. I've never been to a formal dog training facility before this and in the first class I really felt like I could do nothing correctly! I wasn't feeling very good about the experience. I have always trained my own dogs and they turned out great. Once I got the hang of it, and really started seeing the progress, I fell in love. My pup and I have reenlisted several times and it is now a regular weekly activity we do together and we both enjoy it! The dog looks forward to working and we do it about 10 minutes each day plus our weekly class.

Firstly, I'd like to say how excited we were to start classes here, seeing the great reviews and even a few recommendations from people in the area. Unfortunately, our experience here was far from great. In the first two classes I noticed the instructor was blunt with the owners of the dogs, I brushed it off as her teaching style. In my opinion she crossed the line of being disrespectful a few times towards other owners, but we continued on, hoping it would pan out how we wanted. On just my third class, she kept commenting about everything I was doing wrong and while I feel she could've been more respectful, I pushed through it trying to do my best. My dog kept looking at other dogs while we weren't doing anything and I was listening to the instructor. Well she didn't like that and corrected me to correct him, and while I tried I couldn't do it to her standards. So she takes over, grabbing my leash. She tried to get my puppy to obey her, and he wasn't listening. She then lifts him by his prong collar off his front legs over and over until he's crying in pain. She let's him go and he finally looks at her not the other dogs, and she said "see you need to do this. Good boy" she tries to give him a treat and he refuses to take it. She tells me I have my hands full and walks away. I try to talk to my puppy and give him treats, but he couldn't even look at me. He was crying and refusing to do anything. I can understand the method to an extent, but I feel that turned abusive very quickly because she was flustered he didn't listen when she tried to show me how it's done. I walked out of the class and didn't go back. Overall, I'm not comfortable with how she treated my puppy, as I don't feel you need to hurt them to teach them.
