Joseph J Smith Funeral Home

I had my wife's services at Joseph J Smith's when I lost her in May and Joe was there to help with all the arrangements, the wake, the flowers, the funeral, everything. I understand that funeral directors are trained to work with grief, being kind, caring, sympathetic to your loss, but with Joe it was more like that is who he genuinely is as a person. I cannot say enough about how Joe and the people there helped me and my family when we were hurting the most. I highly recommend this funeral home to anyone in Putnam County.

Outstanding service! My Mom passed away in Florida. Her wake and funeral were held here in NY at Joseph Smith. Had to share my experience with Joe Smith Funeral home when I saw 4.9 stars - confused because this funeral home goes above and beyond to please . I scrolled and found that a flower shop delivered to wrong funeral which skewed the five stars. Just so people are aware- this has zero to do with funeral home - this place is caring, compassionate, and just really helpful with planning and process .

Matt is wonderful. He is comforting and caring without being stodgy or overly formal. He cares for every detail efficiently. Unfortunately I have been involved in 3 funerals lately and this funeral home is the only one I would choose.

Mathew at Joesph J Smith funeral home has taken care of my Mother in-law last week for the Wake and Funeral the next day. Very good job on my mother in law as well of all the coordination for the wake and funeral. I highly recommend this funeral home. First class service!
