Couldn't be happier ! Great support staff, Excellent Dr. Very relaxing environment. Dr Ormsby takes her time.....she is thorough , meticulous , and ensures a pain free dental experience. Saving up for my next Crowns and Bridge , I am. I recommend her practice highly . J C Stephens

Review by JO ANN BASGALL: Dr. Jan Ormsby and her crew at the East Shore Dental practice provide absolutely superb dental care. Their combination of expertise and compassionate caring has kept me coming back for over ten years. Excellence across the board is the reality here, from the well-informed, helpful receptionists, to the very competent and knowledgeable hygienists and of course to Dr. Ormsby herself. Dr Ormsby is a terrific dentist. She clearly loves her work and strives to give her patients the best care possible. She is a perfectionist when it comes to her work, and I mean that in the most positive way- she does beautiful work. She also listens carefully to her patients. She is particularly sensitive to people who are anxious or fearful about dental care, and she effectively addresses their concerns. I admit that I have high standards for a dentist. This is because my personal experience with dental care was very good to excellent for forty years. I saw my first dentist for over twenty years, until I left the Midwest for Ithaca. Here I found another fine dentist and stayed with him until his retirement. Then I ran into trouble - over the course of the next five years or so, I had bad experiences with three different dentists. After these mishaps I was quite discouraged. For the first time in my life I stopped having regular check-ups and cleanings, and my dental health suffered. It was such a relief to finally find Dr. Ormsby after going through this difficult period! I actually enjoy my visits to the dentist now. I feel most fortunate to be a patient at East Shore Dental, and I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Ormsby. I hope to continue with her for many years.

My family dentist, of many years, referred me to Dr. Ormsby after I had suffered a frontal trauma to my head, combined with severe whiplash. This event had resulted in an extreme Temporal Mandibular Joint Disorder or TMJ, that was made worse by involuntary, spasmodic jaw slamming. I was also experiencing difficulty thinking and speaking due to Post Concussive Syndrome. Additionally, I did not walk well as my ability to balance was not stable. I was using a protective, mouth-plate guard to prevent me from further fracturing and breaking my own teeth. I am so thankful Dr. Ormsby met with me and my wife to assess and plan a strategy to remediate the desperate condition of my teeth and jaw, which was progressively reducing my overall ability to function. Throughout, Dr. Ormsby was very committed to helping me understand the complex process by which we would proceed. She was very patient and willing to explain the step by step procedures required to achieve the maximum benefit for my teeth and jaw. I came to recognize Dr. Ormsby as a highly respected professional in her field who consulted with doctors of considerable renown on matters related to my particular dental problem. I can say without reservation that Dr. Ormsby exemplifies a doctor who strives to remain on the leading edge of dental technology, a doctor who is open to collaboration with related fields of medicine, and a doctor who holds the well-being of her patient as paramount. The different stages of treatment that I had to undergo were never rushed, but were deliberate and carefully planned. Along the way, I had the opportunity to appreciate a truly exceptional professional at work. Her attention to detail never faltered and her desire for perfection, while unattainable, was still her guiding principle. I can unequivocally say that she was able to blend "correct function" with the aesthetic appearance of my teeth in resolving what was an incredibly daunting medical challenge. I reflect upon how far she has brought me and I am both very grateful and personally amazed. There was no one in Central New York and the Finger Lake Region who even offered the prospect of hope for my situation. There is no question in my mind that without Dr. Ormsby's dedication and resolve, my whole quality of life would be significantly diminished. The people with whom Dr. Ormsby has surrounded herself are truly exceptional. In my case, her wonderfully gifted husband produced a phenomenal series of highly technical models and dental devices that were the foundation for the complex series of transitions required in the corrective process. Her staff, also, reflects Dr. Ormsby's commitment to excellence and they make a visit to her office a delightful and supportive experience. Her dental facility is far and away the most beautiful I have ever seen and offers a panoramic view of sparkling Cayuga Lake, replete with migratory birds of every feather.
