The Eleanor Nursing Care Center

I am an employee of the Eleanor and I am not just saying this because I work here but this facility is a work in progress and we are not perfect. The staff is really trying to break the stigma the community has and staff here really goes above and beyond for our residents. Please give us the chance to care for you and your love ones and do not allow the reviews to stray you away. Come in anytime for a tour and see for yourself!

I went over there on a Sunday to visit my friend who had a very bad accident. From what I saw I can't give a rating as it didn't look good. The air quality was not good, the food looked horrible, no green vegetables and sealed orange juice cups that are given to children in kindergarten. No staff was available to help him eat, as he can't use his hands, and it didn't seem the physical therapy was very good either. The place was not overly clean and his room smelled a bit of urine. Finally an assistant came, but as I left the hallway resonated from buzzers going off (that's how they call for help) coming from all the rooms in the unit. My heart sank. Being here, will he ever recover? If I were in this facility and couldn't get up and walk out I'd be extremely depressed. And will he get hooked on pain killers I have to wonder?

Place is old and rundown. Windows in need of repair, outdated and shameful. Our elderly deserve so much more. Im sure staffing is outrageous so it more than likely shows in the quality of care that is given, They could do a whole lot better. Bare minimum is all that you get! Again its shameful!

The grounds are beautiful, landscaping is amazing here at the Eleanor. The upper parking lot needs a little work as the drainage needs fixed.Upon walking into the main desk you will be greeted with a smile from Marianne who will help you in anyway possible. Moving into the elevator ( there is two but one is being upgraded), you will be greeted by Patrick who is just about the most delightful man you have ever met. Patrick helps with the admission process and helps anywhere and with anything that needs done here at the Eleanor. The nursing staff is very kind, loving and supportive of my Moms needs. Her aids are always available to help in anyway possible. The nurses and aids do not just do their job they become your family and you become their family. The maintenance and cleaning staff are so nice and helpful. The food is very good,( yes actually very good). The inside of the Eleanor is clean, very pretty and nicely decorated. All holidays are welcomed here. My mom has been here over a year and I am very happy and most importantly she is very happy that she is here. Take a short visit, view the grounds, view the inside, take a tour, talk to the nice nurses, aids, staff, administrators and receptionist, you will not be disappointed. I know I wasnt!!!!
