Apex Rehabilitation and Healthcare

My 82 year old mother stayed at Apex in Huntington for 2 1/2 weeks after a knee replacement surgery. We are all very happy with the way my mom was treated at Apex. The staff was very accommodating and she received great care every day. Her PT was done as it was prescribed by the doctor which was so beneficial to her recovery. Her Physical therapist Babloo was knowledgable and very helpful. He had my mom walking in 10 days. We never thought she would be able to walk so quickly after her surgery. She also had nurses helping her walk throughout the day to strengthen her leg muscle and that was super also very helpful. The place was super clean and was sanitized daily. My mother's bedding was changed regularly and she was able to use the shower with a help of a nurse as needed. Overall we had a very positive experience in that facility, and we appreciate everything they've done for my mom.

So I toured this place today for a loved one. The moment I asked them what is the oaticent to nurse ratio their response"we don't know, it's a lot. They are cna". They did not know the nys laws let alone did not answer my question, but rather deflected it. The place smelled like urine. And the person in admissions was unwilling to look to see if my loved one was actually covered to be there. I walked out of there thinking I'd rather take my loved one home and forgive it out then bring them there. So my reccmendations would be to run!

No words to describe my experience that my loved one had here. It's mind boggling how the place is still operating. I wouldn't send a rabbid animal there. Despicable. Part of me is glad my loved one had dementia and couldn't recall her experience.

dear uncle Robbie. is rehabing at Apex. We are all so proud to call Apex a second home for our uncle . The care, the staff, the nurses and the physical therapists have been truly outstanding. Our Uncle is making tremendous strides in his recovery. We just want to express our thanks to Apex and their entire staff for all that u do for our Uncle Robbie and all the patients that walk through your doors.
