Terrible terrible administration who never accepts fault for issues. The buildings are in disarray and funding for necessary programs are non existent or deferred to other places like sports or music.

Excellent school when I was there.  Special needs services were fantastic and helped me though school to succeed.  Music department is one of the best I have ever seen.  Glad I was there to be part of class of 2017.  If your child has special needs this school district is the best decision to make!!!

Online learning was executed horribly. in my 13 years of being a student, the buildings have fallen into disrepair, the majority of the staff, especially at the high school should not be teaching, they do not know how to teach or the course material. For example, I took AP Physics in which the teacher assigned daily homework about topics we haven't covered in class, we spent almost every day going over the homework problems which he would get wrong when he did them on the board. The guidance department does not prepare kids to apply to college, the board of education and administration for the most part comes up with crappy policies and ways of running the school, especially at the superintendent and Board of education levels. The superintendent has made it clear many times she does not care about the lives of her students, they are just a paycheck to her. Most departments, especially the tech department, are underfunded, have an inadequate course lineup and can not compete with local schools, especially Shaker, South Colonie, Nisky, Shen, etc. The school district taxes it's residents an exorbitant amount of money for a sub par school system. The administration, especially the Superintendent are over paid. Do not send your kids to the Guilderland School System, if you are thinking of moving into the district, don't.
