Today we spontaneously went to the Italian restaurant around the corner from our hotel. The ambience and the welcome were authentically Italian and we, as big Italy lovers, were very happy about it. The facility seemed lovingly decorated and the music in the background was Italian. The service (herself from Milan, as she told us when we asked) was very warm and attentive. As a starter we each had the spinach salad with tomatoes and fried bacon and organic salad with red onions. Both were freshly prepared. The bacon with the spinach was a very great combination. For the main course we had spaghetti with meatballs and chicken with spaghetti and tomato sauce. The Parmesan was freshly grated onto our plate. This meal was also really delicious. The tomato sauce definitely tasted freshly made. It was just too much for me, I couldn't do it. I wanted another dessert. Before that there was a limoncello on the house and an espresso from the portafilter. Very good. For dessert there was a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a fantastic tiramisu decorated with strawberries, blackberries and whipped cream. Also very delicious. We felt completely comfortable. The beer was typically Italian. Unfortunately, and that's really the only negative point, the wine (Chianti) didn't taste good at all. I was hoping for more from an Italian restaurant. This is a hidden gem, a really nice old-school Italian place, nice, warm, friendly staff serving up delicious food. It was our first visit, but they made us feel like we've been there a hundred times. You know that kind of service where they make you feel at home. Whatever you decide to try, I'm sure you'd love it. We're heading back for some Pizza this weekend.
