I brought my cat in for a check-up. The staff couldn't have been kinder or more responsive to my concerns. Dr. Morgan was terrific. She took the time to explain my cat's health issues in detail and to answer all of my questions. The best experience I have ever had with a veterinarian! This was our first trip to All Creatures Veterinary Hospital but it most certainly won't be our last.

Dr Nunemacher was the vet for my 2 dogs. During a physical exam, she observed a heart murmur and said they both needed Echocardiograms in order to get an accurate diagnosis. After the Echos, one of my dogs was prescribed medication. A day after she started the medication she died suddenly. When told that my dogs needed Echocardiograms at $800 each, I advised Dr Nunemacher that I wanted to check with other places to possibly find a more affordable price (I had just spent thousands on their care but did not want to delay the procedure). I was told it was best to have it done there as others may be cheaper because the test isnt performed by a Cardiologist and the results may not be accurate. What I wasnt aware of at the time was that the doctor performing the test there is a traveling Cardiologist. I would never know his name, speak to him personally, or interact with him in any way. All follow-up was with Dr Nunemacher. After I alerted the hospital about the passing of my dog, a part of Dr Nunemachers emailed response stated that I should get a 2nd opinion for my other dog and recommended the name of a Cardiologist at another clinic. This hospital also does not give after visit summaries. I had asked a few times while checking out after my appts and was told that it would be emailed to me after the doctor completed entering the visit information; I never receive a single one. They also do not communicate with the front desk when the pet has to be back so the scheduler frequently had to confirm when I said I was told to schedule a follow-up appt. They are however very efficient in the collection of payment. At check out the invoice is ready for me and emailed to me after I pay. After the passing of my dog, I asked the hospital to please send the records for both of my dogs and the case number for reporting her death the medication manufacturer. I did not receive a response for over a month and after sending a follow-up email, I received a call from the Practice Manager who said he couldnt speak with me regarding any clinical information but wanted to verbally give me the case number from the manufacturer. I requested that they provide ALL the information via email. This was the only call I had with anyone at the hospital after my dogs passing. I wanted the records because when I had spoken to Dr Nunemacher immediately after their Echos, she told me that if prescribed a tablet, that I would have to cut it in half. When I picked up my dogs, the tech said to give a whole tablet twice a day. I asked them to confirm and even called back again after I left and spoke to the nurse. It is Dr Nunemachers position that although my dog had no clinical signs of heart disease, was told not to modify activity level or food, and could have anesthesia for dental work, that she died one day after starting the medication not due to the medication but possibly from a rare, unpredictable event for which they will never know for certain without a necropsy. My other dog also has degenerative heart disease and will need medication someday. I do not want to have to bury another member of my family early. I trusted this hospital and the responses received has served to only complicate and intensify my grief and disrupt the medical care of my pet. I never received a response to my last email requesting a clarification as to why what was prescribed was higher than what was on the manufacturers website based on my dogs weight and also deviated from what I was originally told. If you are a pet owner, you should get written information from your appts. You should question when you are given contradictory information verbally. And most of all, if your pet has a heart condition, it is best to see Cardiologist that you can actually consult with. You should put the care of your pets in the hands of those who want to understand the sudden death of a pet so they can prevent this pain from happening to others if they can.
