Backstage Casting

Ive had the worst experience on the mobile app of Backstage. I had a callback message for a shortfilm in February 18th. I have been checking my inbox and refreshing the page every single day for auditions ive submitted. Today is April 4th and the message just appeared on my inbox. This is very damaging for my image and integrity as i seemed to not respond at all to the producers of this project when Backstage did not showed those messages to me. Needless to say im paying for the subscription, so im definately canceling that. Id like an apology on their behalf to them.

Pretty much a scam. Cant call and talk to any one. Can only contact through email. Always want money, how are you a talent agency and dont take the time to develop your talent? You want hundreds of dollars and dont offer classes, headshots for your clients, a resume, a coach or anything. Why pay $3-400 bucks to be an extra and you may not even be seen.Also they have tons of fake reviews!

Backstage is no longer it when it comes to promoting an acting workshop. They'll take your money but will not give you access to those interested in acting. They limit reach so you'll pay more, following iG lead, Facebook lead. I went from 25 prospects a post to 1 or 2 submissions, it's beyond odd after years.I also suspect it's a conflict of interest to offer free classes that's not associated with a Backstage promotion, it does not help with their free promotion or paid promotions they promote.IG and Facebook, even Eventbrite is more feasible and better suited for this purpose I'm realizing,  I'm grateful to backstage competition. Had to share.
