Max Shoe Repair

They did what I needed them to do, which was fix my boot, but customer service could be vastly improved. I dropped a boot with a broken zipper off on Tuesday, and was told to come back for it on Saturday (a $27 job, if it matters to anyone). Keep in mind that I only saw one person running the place, so this is who I'll be referring to throughout. When a storm hit on Saturday, of course I had to wait until Sunday, but when I got there a little after the opening time listed on Google, they were closed. Atop it, as I stand outside the shop, I overhear another customer yelling at the owner over the phone as she had come to pick up her shoes that day as well, which does not fair well for the store's professionalism. She is told to wait an hour, so I do the same, but when I get there, the owner says he has not picked up my boot yet (which I take to mean he sent it out for repair, so maybe that's why it took so long?), and that he'll pick it up Monday. Monday comes, and I confirm he has the boot, but when I get there, he asks for the receipt back. It took me a minute to realize he meant the ticket he gave me, and he said nothing to clarify that was what he meant until after I had gone digging through my pockets. In fact, he was very rude and snippy about it, insisting I "give him his receipt", and when I finally gave him the ticket and tried to apologize for the confusion, he continued to be snippy, saying things like "Why would I be talking about something else" in a very rude tone. Throughout all my interactions with him, he also spoke rather quickly, as if he wanted me out of his hair. I managed to get my repaired boot, but I don't think I will ever visit this store again, and I urge anyone reading this to look elsewhere before coming here for a shoe repair.

We are all trying to support small businesses but trust me they do not want to make money, I just came back to New York after being in florida for 14 years the weather in florida does a number on your leather shoes especially if lined with leather so leather inside shoe is falling apart, I went to max approached the gentleman there about shoes before I finish my statement, he said rudely nothing I can do for that, I said what about if your just remove leather all together , rudely again you go home and you scrape it off, I was shocked, the level of professionalism is disgusting I am not asking for freebies I am paying for it
