Veronica S. on Yelp

image Overall, we did not have a positive experience at Imagine Dumbo. I had high expectations, as numerous colleagues and neighbors had recommended Imagine and/or this specific site. Pros: The teachers they attract are good, they teach the kids shapes and animals etc, they keep them active, they have good (even if onerous) COVID protocols. Cons: High turnover of teachers and good teachers are stretched across numerous centers, at least part of the turnover is due to poor management, unprofessional and careless management, and unfair policies related to aggression among kids (biting, kicking, scratching, etc). Basically, I did not feel they did enough to protect children from aggressive kids in the classroom. I can also say that I experienced some racial insensitivity that made it difficult to trust that my kid was safe regarding interactions with white children. I can't emphasize how difficult it was to interact with management. They really seemed stretched thin and not doing as good a job as pre-COVID. But considering the epic cost ($40K/year), I'd recommend looking long and hard elsewhere. Also, do your best to connect with other parents to have a better sense of what's happening. Unfortunately, there just aren't great childcare solutions right now!

image Betty unprofessional . Seems very racist and not welcomed to all black children. My son attended daycare , went to live with dad for summer, and new director when I tried to enroll him back no answer no call back. When I call from number they answer and say they are closing but I see everyday the business is open. I would not recommend this to any all Black parents but if you are white or mixed they welcome you with open arms

image I work individually with a student who goes here for UPK. I've met with a few of the teachers and the director many times. I've also experienced what it's like to go through the morning routine with a class from arrival until lunch time. Since I've been to many schools over the years as a teacher, I can definitely say that I've seen some great and some not so great schools. I'm happy to say that this place is a wonderful space that provides learning, happiness and love. The teachers here are highly qualified and are more than happy to provide the best environment for each child's specific learning style. I would recommend this school to any parent.
