I went to 258 from 1979-81. Yes, it was in a disenfranchised community and most of the kids there did not have much, nor much hope. But I, and many of my classmates, persevered and graduated, and moved on. I had great teachers there who ensured that my education was up to par, Mr. Teal, Mrs. Sills, Mr. Berkowitz, Mrs. Dandridge, Mr. Goodwin, Dr. Johnson (principal), Madomoselle Dorsey, Mrs. Bellerand just to name a few. There were some scary moments that came from the community, but the education that I received from David Ruggles helped to shape who I am today. I would not trade it for anything.
