We are repeat campers, as my 4 year old completed her second summer of camp with Backpacks. First, we love Sophie as she is kind, thoughtful, pays attention to detail, and communicated well with us during my Camper's first summer. With regard to her second summer, all the Leads were pleasant. They provided good reports and communicated well with us about our Camper. If at all possible, please add to your weekly emails the names of the Leads each week because at times I saw new faces at drop-off and pick-up and didn't know who to communicate with about my Camper. Also, the Leads should be trained to communicate with campers appropriately and on what kinds of music is appropriate for campers (ie I heard a Lead tell a camper to mind his business). There were also too many times when I picked up my Camper and her face and hands were dirty. I understand some of the Leads are interns, but they should be able to notice and rectify hygiene issues. My Camper was placed in time-out a couple times, which is fine. However, I would be careful with punishment without parental consent. Finally, thank you for all the adventures that introduced my Camper to public transportation. Thank you for researching whether you can provide after school care for my Camper. Thank you for seamlessly accommodating the service providers who attended camp with my Camper. Thank you for Sophie. Thank you for the few times when a Lead complimented me on my Camper. Thank you for broadening my Camper's NYC and food experiences. Our Camper will return next year.
