Sunset Park Playhouse

Both of my children still attend the Playhouse and are 5 months and 3 years old respectively and the reason it has worked out so beautifully there is because of the amount of caring and dedication that goes into the work they do there. Rita is extremely attentive to key details like the food that they provide for breakfast, lunch and snacks and the educational programming. The Playhouse is closer to a school than a traditional daycare as they always sing songs, do daily craft activities and take the kids on field trips to get them out and exposed to different kinds of spaces that they can explore. Staff provide daily updates ok on how my kids are doing and milestones or things they are working on to reinforce at home and tips for doing that, which is really helpful. The staff are very active on Brightwheel, which is an app that allows parents to manage their daycare/school related issues through an app. The staff post personalized pics, send messages and also the meal offerings (and whether your child ate it and how much!). Overall, I am extremely pleased with our experience with the Playhouse and would strongly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for quality care that is also backed up by a ton of know how regarding key things like nutrition and infant/child development and creating a fun learning environment for all.

Rita and her staff are like family to us. Every day I drop off both of my daughters I know they are safe and happy. I couldn’t ask for better caregivers or a better program! Rita serves delicious, healthy food and engages the children in such fun, creative ways. My 2 year old’s language has flourished and my 7 month old is so social and happy and I KNOW this is because of the love she has been given while at the playhouse. The small family vibe of the playhouse is also such an excellent alternative to the baby factory/large daycare centers throughout the area. I highly recommend 👍

I called to get prices and the women answered very nasty. I said "I'm calling to get prices" she replied with shoot me an email, I asked if they could give me prices over the phone since I was driving and I was hoping I could drop off my daughter same day and I was told I'm being nasty. I'll make sure I never use this facility and spread the word with my colleagues. Very very unprofessional I wouldn't even trust this rude women to care for my daughter. What a joke!

My son attended Sunset Park Playhouse for a year before entering pre-k. Our family has nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience with Rita and the Sunset Park Playhouse. It is a small and intimate center where our son immediately felt at home with the staff and children. Every day the children were engaged in enriching, creative activities. Rita and her staff prepared delicious, balanced, home-cooked meals, all organic and many plant-based. During his year at Sunset Park Playhouse my son learned so many new things, and improved his social skills greatly! Rita and her staff really nurture the whole child. Again, my family and I highly recommend Sunset Park Playhouse for families in the Sunset Park area. We plan on sending our second child when the time comes!
