EZ Dry Cleaners

I really wanted to give them a good review until I had a major problem with them last week.Pros: They are conveniently located. They also advertise that they do organic dry cleaning. The owner does pick-up and delivery for people who are unable to travel to the store, which was useful during the pandemic. Cons: Because the owner spends a lot of time doing pick-up and delivery, he is not usually at the store. He seems to be interested in pleasing his customers, but his assistant manager is the opposite. I had a major problem with the assistant manager, and I am thinking of filing a formal complaint.Here is what happened: I brought in three pair of slacks and a suit jacket for my husband for dry cleaning. When I returned to retrieve them, there was a button missing from the suit jacket. The assistant manager said that since he didn't find a stray button in the store, it must have been brought in without the button.  Although I think I would have noticed that the button was missing when I brought the item in for cleaning, I agreed to go home and double-check with my husband regarding whether or not the button was indeed missing. I requested to pay for the cleaning of the three pair of slacks while we were resolving the issue with the jacket, but the assistant manager refused to release the three pair of slacks to me unless I also took back the jacket with the missing button. I decided not to pick up the items until I spoke with my husband to confirm whether or not the button was missing (my husband's response was that he also thought that the button was on the jacket when I brought it into the store). I returned to EZ Drycleaners hoping to find the owner, but the assistant manager told me that he is in charge, and that the owner isn't usually there.  I then told the assistant manager that I want to work with him to resolve the issue. He dismissed my overture to work together, saying that I'm making a big fuss out of a minor cost to replace a button (there actually are six buttons on the suit, including four buttons on each sleeve, and they all would need to be replaced if they are to match). I tried to work with him to perhaps encourage him to agree to have new buttons sewed on for an agreed-upon cost. He would have nothing to do with it. I paid for the items and took them home, with the intent of either filing a complaint or doing a yelp review, or both.
