        What a treasure! Amazing curries served in enormous bowl made from gourds while reggae plays. African sculptures peek between the leaves while chickens pluck about in the back coop. Some youngsters from a local school taught us to make a watermelon salad with lemon balm herbs and afterwards we all got free dollars to spend just for participating so we all wanted lemon balm, and a lovely young man went to the herb garden and cut us bunches. Staffed by people passionate about farming and teaching urban kids where food comes from and how to eat healthy. This is such an amazing neighborhood treasure I had to go google who Hattie carthan was. I have never loved bed Stuy more than my afternoon at this garden.
