Messing up peoples family dinner by closing 2 hrs early without any prior messaging or updating your website is just awful. Sticking to paisanos from now on. Not worth the massive premium with that kind of service.

I come here all the time and have always been impressed by the quality of the meat which is matched by the passion of the people working here. I asked the butcher if I should buy one of his hams for Christmas. He said "this will be the best ham you ever have".  I cooked the ham tonight and it was the best ham I've ever had.  If this isn't your butcher in Nyc they should be.

One of the many Italian delis in the area, Dellapietras serves a whole lot of different meats. They are newer compared to Paisanos/Staubitz/G Esposito (and not as new as Mozz Lab and Sanpanino) but they've still been around for almost 10 years. The people here are very knowledgeable regarding whatever type of meat your preparing. I personally go here for sandwiches which might be $17 but they are on massive heroes and absolutely stuffed and easily big enough for two meals or for two people to share which makes them more reasonable. I prefer this place's prosciutto sandwich over the one at Paisanos but prefer their roast beef and other meats. I've heard good things about the porchetta here as well. Outside of their absurdly large sandwiches, they also have a hot deli counter with a couple specials. I definitely prefer Mozz Lab in terms of cheese and Paisanos has more of just about everything else but the portion size here makes up for the slightly worse flavors.
