BEWARE of this place. Do not go here, they are Covid price guzzlers. They also charge you for cancellation, if you decide to change your mind at the same day after you discover the astronomical pricing. Ok why would you make me pay half the price for a service I decide not to use because I’m telling you the truth as a consumer, I can not afford it. For example, if your hairstyle cost 200 dollars the cancellation fee is 100. What is this California BLVD for celebrities, I don’t think so.The space is unkept as far as hygiene. No one up keeps the bathroom space and the area is a slue of hair everywhere, garbage overflowing. Why do a temperature check when you can catch a cold just being there. The manager is rude and disrespectful and non compromising. Too rigid here to get my hair done 💇‍♀️. Not transparent about their prices. A bunch of price guzzlers they are. I went to this place with the hope of having an amazing experience. But not, only disappointment. I went there Sunday because I could not even get an straight answer over the phone . Right there it was a sign that I should have given up. But not , so on Sunday, I went there with my 14 years old daughter, who was dreaming of having a platinum blonde hair, just like Elsa. Hair Metal gave me an appointment for that same day 10/03 at 3pm .In meantime, I decided to show to them a picture of their Instagram of a hair balayage, and the work was done by Sarah. And I asked at the front desk how could I get an appointment for the same hair style with Sarah . They are not honest, not even when it comes to a simple question about one of their stylist. They could not tell me the truth, I had to find out on my own, by looking through their Instagram posts, that Sarah does not works there in a regular basis. She comes from out of the state. For this solo reason, they right way suggested me to get my hair appointment done with another hair stylist, a man. Monday morning I compared the stylist that they suggested me, with Sarah Instagram account pictures. Right at that moment I had a change of heart. Although I had to wait till noon, so I could give them a call and cancel my next day appointment. But no! this was not possible! They told me that I would have to pay half of the original price for the service for a cancellation fee. Total fee cancellation would have been $260. Taking in consideration that, I did call exactly 24 hours before my appointment day, and less than 24 hours that I had made the appointment. But this was not help at all . The receptionist was irreducible, very adamant about the cancellation fee , nothing else had any importance, but their financial gain. They are not alternative, not punks, not hippies. Perhaps they are only money hungry arrogant people . Moving on , now I would like to talk about my child’s hair . My daughter’s dreams of a platinum blonde hair turned into a nightmare. She was so disappointed and so was I. She cried her eyes out all the way back home on Sunday night. Me? I was disappointed , tired confused about the prices. The end results that we got, did not match at all the final price of $260 for the terrible double process for the platinum hair . My child hair was not platinum blonde when the process finished after 3 hours. They did not even apply any decent hair mask or hair conditioner, my daughter’s hair was porous and super frizzy, and that was fine with them too . Plus it had and still has 3 shades of blonde. I was honest with the hair stylist, I told her that my daughter had used hydrogen peroxide few weeks prior. She did not even noticed it because my daughters natural hair color is very light. But this woman kept using this as an excuse for not achieving the platinum blonde hair. Instead of coming up with something more original and honest about her difficulty in delivering a platinum blonde hair. No, she insisted on saying that it was because of the previous usage of hydrogen peroxide on my child’s hair . Hence that , when we got to the salon my daughter hair was free of any hair dye. Hydrogen peroxide does not deposit any pigment on the hair. However, It does strip hair of its natural pigmentation, like bleach does, but in a softer way. So, after paying for a double process for a platinum blonde hair, that did not come out the proper way, now I need to go else where to fix my daughter’s hair, because I don’t trust this people anymore; not with my credit card information or with my daughter’s hair either. Very arrogant people, very inconsiderate people, very unreasonable people. Basically the kind of people that anyone on his/her right mind would like to avoid . Do yourself a big, huge favor: take your money elsewhere, not at Hair Metal. NEW OWNER SUCKS. I recently went here to get my hair dyed from blonde to blue. Super easy and am very happy with the results. I didn’t get my stylists name but she was wonderful and super nice. My only beef with this place is with the new owner who wouldn’t let me venmo my stylist and insisted I pay in cash. I obviously didn’t have cash on me so I had to leave to go an ATM. If you’re going to have your clients pay in cash only, sufficient warning on the website would be greatly appreciated. Changing it up last minute is extremely Unprofessional and honestly sketchy.
