Brewster Central School District

Drove by their main office, one of their employees seemed to have a rather large pair of metal "trailer nutts" hanging from the back of their car. Seems a little odd to have on your car you take to work at a school.

Better off moving to Dutchess or paying the Chappaqua taxes. It is a overfunded school system that fights against helping children.

This district is hit or miss. JFK, wonderful. I enjoyed our time with JFK. CV Starr, needs work, the nurse is fantastic at this school. At CV Starr I had an issue where one math teacher said to my older 7th grader "I guess your brother did not inherit the math skills that you have", all while knowing my child is special needs. Deplorable comment at best. HH Wells, also needs work, guidance with this school is commendable. -Always with their students and checking in. Brewster High school, eh. I have had teachers speak poorly about my children to the class during my child's absences and other students recording the teacher and then showing my children. My son's 5th grade teacher stood him in front of the class all while "making an example" out of my son for forgetting a permission slip. This district is so worried about security that they do not realize the amount of parents sneaking alcohol into sports events at Brewster High School. Especially into the gym for indoor sports. Shame to think parents in this district need alcohol to happily enjoy their children's games. This district also needs to take a good look at racism from teachers directed towards students. Overall I had wished for better. This district is so involved that they miss small things and have created nasty staffing.
