Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing

It's a great facility. Lots of activities for the residents, clean. I'm glad my mom is there. She is really enjoying her rehab stay.

Miriam the concierge provides outstanding, loving support and companionship for my resident loved one, Margaret, on a daily basis! She is truly a bright light in her world! Today I met Empress, who provided Margaret with caring attention, as well as Sarah, who skillfully and effectively motivated Margaret to eat her meal! It's so comforting to know these compassionate dedicated staff are part of Margaret's life! Although I have not seen her in a while, I've always appreciated Hilda from food service who goes out of her way to be helpful! And I'm super grateful to know that RN Dawn is overseeing Margaret's care. I've known her (for many years) to always provide common sense, top notch, stellar service! They all should be commended!

Some nursing staff care more than others. Needs desperately nursing assistants and LPNs with better paid. Short of staff primary problem followed by other problems related like: burnout, negligence, no focus on individual nursing care, lack to spending time or quality of care with resident and treat resident as a human been.Perception: Administrative / owners focus on take advantage of the financial aspect, government programs and money makers. So sad!
