We were looking to do a gut renovation and build a 2nd fl addition to our existing house located on New York city R3X zoning. Our project started with another architect that didn’t turned out what we wanted. We hired Paul and his team to redesign our house. Paul and his team are very professional and knowledgeable in NYC building code. We had number of meetings in his offices including our viewing of the pictures we liked, they listened to our preferences and details, and explained to us what is not practical….. they corrected all the flaws from the previous architect and were patient to update all the details we requested. Due to the Building zoning minimum requirement, we were told we only can have low slope roof style for our project (from all other architects we met) , but we wanted to have steep slope roof style to show the beauty of the house. Paul accomplished the Cross Gable Roof style (steep roof style) in our project without losing any area calculations. We just got our plan passed by DOB New York City. Paul and his team designed our house and accomplished both beauty and function, there is not one thing I want to change. Paul and his team are absolutely brilliant, professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Paul’s expertise was crucial to our project and make a difference. We highly recommend Architects Rule to anyone who is doing any level and any type of construction.

I've been through thick and thin with Paul. From surprise easement issues to COVID-19 and the DOB, we have met about every obstacle possible. In one instance, Paul won an audience before the Deputy Borough Commissioner himself to remove an objection. He is a consummate professional. His familiarity with the relevant codes means examiners have to take him seriously. Despite his breadth of knowledge and expertise, he also comports himself with integrity and tact. Through the most frustrating stages of our project, Paul always picked up my calls and kept me up to date. I worry to think where I might still be if we went with another architect. We discovered Paul through a contractor we have a long relationship with. I hope he will accept me as a client for my next project. He is someone you want in your corner. Thank you, Paul and MJ!
