I have adopted several animals from them over the years. Its an amazing organization that takes on many of the cases other local rescues can't or won't. They get no funding from the county or state like some other rescues. The staff is professional and caring. I see there are some trolls out there making recent comments about the adoption process. I'm 100 percent certain they were denied for good reason and some people just can't deal with rejection.

I really don't care for this place. I personally feel like they don't care about animals. They refused me and a couple others from adoption even after approval. I got to witness my friend being disrespected and harassed by staff. I would just go to the spca. The animals here are not cated for.

We tried multiple times to adopt a animal. We were approved with our application. They said 12-2 was available for anyone to show up and look at animals and adopt. The lied, when we showed up no one came outside. We called and no one answered the phone. It's just sad to look at a cat and to get attached and not be able to adopt them even after being told you can ...... DO NOT SUPPORT THEM NOR TRY TO ADOPT FROM THEM They refused service and claimed we were rude after a statement. They asked me to delete my review. Said they could provide service if I deleted it. Then I said something that she felt was offensive. "My review worked". We're in the USA we have freedom of speech. They had us head back there they canceled last minute. They hung up on us many times previously. They keep deleting my reviews. I will keep posting my experience. Please support better shelters who actually live the animals like the SPCA

This organization is a nightmare for true caring animal lovers. They literally are a bait and switch operation. My baby who is only 6 lb was only supposed to have three teeth removed. They took every single tooth out of her mouth and they literally charged me more money than they said and their claim was it was for the sutures. Well guess what? How do you not add that into the estimate? Of course you're going to need sutures when you take a tooth out of a dog ,seriously . Worst of all ,they did not even call me to let me know that they were going to take all of her 19 teeth out or I would have said no. I will take her for a second opinion. I have a trusted veterinarian that I use. Sadly she does not do tooth removal so she told me that my little girl ginger Su only needed three teeth out. The rest of her teeth were quite strong and I have taken her to this vet her entire life. She has scraped The plaque off and taken care of her teeth twice a year every year. To top it off they charged me over $30 for using a credit card. I do not have that kind of money extra. My husband is on disability due to a brain tumor and I asked them. Could I please come in and pay them cash and they reverse the charges they literally said nope. You should have read the signs and hung up on me. If that is not an organization that cares about money only, I don't know what is. Please do not ever support hvars. They are literally not in it for the animals. They are clearly in it for the money only. It really bothered me because I told my little Ginger when I adopted her that I would never let anyone hurt her again as she was quite abused when I got her from the humane society. But I feel like I let her down because I trusted these people and it turns out they hurt her more than anyone could have.
