Hermitage Amagansett

Have stayed here numerous times and can say that it’s such a nice setup. Private beach plus pool option with kitchenette is all you normally need. My one complaint is that the walls are so thin that you hear the conversations (and the walking and music or whatever) if the unit above or below you is occupied).

Don’t book through Expedia. Expedia’s “Ocean Room” takes back seat to booking through the OG website. We booked an “ocean view” through Expedia and are looking at evergreen trees. Also, not insignificant, and maybe the bigger issue, is that their Internet is supposed to be resort wide. In A11 specifically, the internet doesn’t reach. Mind you, this is 1.000 a night after taxes. The service acts like “you need them; we don’t need you.”

We are still here and been here for 3 nights and everything is great, EXCEPT that the second level floors must be made of thin material or not carpeted. We can hear every footfall, every scrape of furniture, every sliding of closet door. We know when the upstairs wakes up and gets out of bed. We can hear when they walk to the kitchen or to the bathroom. We are trying to relax after a long day out but we keep hearing thud, thud, thud, and scraaape, draaaag, draaag. I know the upstairs should be mindful too but it really isn't their fault; it's the thin flooring or no carpetting. But our first level unit is carpetted so I don't know why the I upstairs wouldn't be. It is April and not yet peak season-- we can only imagine the noise in the summer when all the units are occupied. It is unfortunate really because it is a beautiful property, close to the beach, and very clean.
