Went in on Valentine's day after nine pin visit. We were super hungry. The bartender was very polite and helpful with selections. Right away, where we sat smelled a bit like sewage or an open drain. It was pretty gross. My sloop juice bomb from tap was a darker orange. Sloop is supposed to be a bright or normal orange. When it is dark orange then the beer has aged a bit too much. It didn't have the bite that it usually did. Having the beer around the area at places like Lynn's, Savoy, and others. I'm familiar with a proper sloop. I don't waste beer and didn't wanna be a bother so I drank it anyway. The menu design was hard to read in the bar. Dark red on a black menu is hard to read in a dimly lit bar. The cheese pizza was meh, the tomato sauce tasted like cheap canned sauce. The wait for the pizza was about 20 minutes. The dough was not great. We were going to order more food but didn't want to wait longer or be disappointed. We decided to pack it up and go to Lynn's uptown bar for some decent beer and grub. I used to visit this location before the shutdown specifically for the Kilkenny's Irish cream ale on Nitro. It was one of two places in the entire area that had it. Now that it's gone I don't think I'll be returning as there is nothing that was spectacular about my visit other than the friendly bartender. When there are various other selections with similar offerings in the same immediate area. This one is probably the lowest on my list.
