Andrew is an incredible guitar player and has a wealth of knowledge including but not limited to music theory & guitar tips and tricks. He has a knack for explaining things that I didnt know I needed to be explained. Ive taken lessons with Andrew for a few months and if I had more time available, I would do it twice a week. Hes a great jam partner and happily writes notes for me to take home and study, and will go above and beyond and even make personalized videos sometimes when I need extra help on a certain topic. Highly recommend taking lessons with Andrew.

Tailored instruction to the style of music I like yet developing the skills I need.. He has an outgoing personality and really relates to you as an individual. Although he is an accomplished musician he is an even better teacher. He loves to teach and gives clear instructions while being encouraging . I really look forward to the lessons. .

While I have only been a student of Andrew's for a short time, I have benefited tremendously from having a great teacher. I tried to learn guitar using Youtube and some other lessons, but they really only amounted to fooling around with the instrument. I had heard good things about Andrew and 518 Guitar, and I am more than pleased with how my lessons have gone so far. Andrew is flexible and can do lessons both over zoom and in person, which has made things convenient for my busy and sometimes variable schedule. He does a great job of introducing the basics and building off of that, which I have found to be way more helpful than how some other resources online structured their lessons. He explains concepts well and I always leave lessons with good notes to help with my at-home practicing, and he is always available to answer questions that I have about what we went over. I would recommend Andrew to anyone who is serious about learning guitar. He is a great musician in his own right and I always look forward to our lessons.

I recently started taking acoustic guitar lessons with Andrew at 518 Guitar. In such a short time, it has been a really amazing experience. As a 'newbie' without knowledge and without a guitar, Andrew was a wealth of information and resources. Each email we exchanged was full of detailed, helpful information about his classes, as well as going above and beyond to help me get set up BEFORE I was even registered with him to take any lessons. Andrew assisted me in purchasing my first (beautiful) starter guitar - AND even offered to go to the shop and play it first - to ensure I was getting a guitar that would fit my needs. Before ever taking a lesson with Andrew, he emailed me countless tips and links to resources. I can't say enough about how amazingly helpful he was before I even signed up!!! Now, I have had my first lesson and it was great. Andrew listens to your goals and puts you on a fast track to achieving them. I am already improving greatly in my chord transitions and placement - just days after our first lesson. Professional. Accommodating . . . and I really enjoy learning with Andrew, so far.

My name is Jon and I started taking lessons with Andrew at 518 Guitar Lessons while I was living in France as a US expatriot. We connected on Skype - I felt like I hit such a plateau in my playing. I used to tour professionally, and now that I've been in the engineering field for a while, I really miss music. Lessons with Andrew have been amazing. He knew precisely where my issues were and custom-built the lessons to the knowledge and skills gap I've had. Since I started lessons with Andrew/518 Guitar, I've been able to finally start to express myself more freely on the guitar - I started by re-learning some of my old favorite songs and originals and then breaking them down from there to see how I could return to my old skills, and then grow new ones. It's been awesome!! I feel like I have an ally/teammate in my corner helping to keep me un-confused and moving forward. Five stars!! and more!! :)
