I called this company to come to my business to calibrate one of my commercial scales. To their credit, they came the next day and did what they were asked to do.
My surprise came when I received their bill and I noticed that in addition to their hourly labor rate ($109.00/hour), they charge a "travel charge" which came to $110.43! While here working on my scale, the technician mentioned that he had driven to Braintree (where my business is located) from Rhode Island so maybe that's why the charge was so steep?
The thing is, I called a company which is located in Canton, not far from my business and ended up paying for a technician to make a trip from Rhode Island to service my store.
My advice? Make sure to ask what the "travel charge" will be BEFORE you schedule this company to do work for you. To have my scale calibrated (which took about 45 minutes) it cost my business $219.43.
