So I had left a scathing one star review before and now that Ive had time to mull things over Im writing a new one. If you have very basic banking needs, no big deposits, and a regular paycheck then this institution will probably work for you. The tellers have been polite and helpful whenever Ive gone. And a checking account is only $1 a month. That said Im a small business owner and this is a terrible place for that. I get sporadic big checks and GCU will put a business week hold on them! Its sooooooo frustrating! Once I made the mistake of depositing a check in their ATM and it took almost two weeks for it to post. When I called to try to get it sped up I felt very condescended to. I was about to cry and when I told the lady that she actually laughed at me. Well we dont want you to CRY. She thought it was funny. Another time I went to open a business account and was told it would be $50/month for a checking. I tried to open a business savings account and was told I needed a NM Business License, which the state doesnt issue. They issue a certificate, and the GCU rep even told me, I know the state doesnt issue that but we still need it. Really. I was able to open an online biz account with Lili and it was soooo easy! Definitely recommend them. I feel kind of stuck with them now but for anyone with a business youd be better off elsewhere. I just wish they had been transparent about that to begin with. I couldve shopped around.
